Nominations for OGF Leadership Positions
With OGF's first year coming to a close, the NOMCOM will be participating in the process to fill two At-Large Board of Director seats during July. A full listing of vacant and vacating Area Director seats will be published in July and an open call for nominations will follow shortly thereafter.
About the NOMCOM
The NOMCOM solicits and selects or recommends candidates to fill OGF leadership positions, such as Area Directors and at-large Board Members. It gives the OGF community a way to influence the who serves in these positions and also gives the chosen members a community mandate.
NOMCOM Selection Process
This year the process of forming the volunteer team that serves as NOMCOM has been altered. The main change is that the random selection process will be applied to the OGF community as a whole rather than via an open call for volunteers. In this new process, individuals who have participated in 2 of the last 4 GGF/OGF events will form a pool which will be randomly "ordered" via the verifiable process described in the NOMCOM charter. The criteria for this year's random process will be the UK Lotto Dream Number announced on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at http://www.national-lottery.co.uk. The NOMCOM Chair will then begin at the "top" of the list and ask individuals to participate until ten have agreed. These ten will form the voting members of the 2007/2008 NOMCOM.
